Judy Blume book art

Two rows of book covers, all written by Judy Blume

I was thrilled to be invited to illustrate the covers of Just As Long As We’re Together and Here’s To You, Rachel Robinson, Judy Blume novels being reissued by Simon & Schuster Children’s this August 2026. My art also appears on the middle grade covers of Are You There God? It’s Me MargaretBlubberDeenieIggie’s HouseIt’s Not The End Of The WorldStarring Sally J. Freeman As Herself, and Then Again, Maybe I Won’t as well as the covers and interior art of the chapter book versions of Freckle JuiceThe Pain and The Great One, and The One In The Middle Is The Green Kangaroo.

Most recently, I provided the cover art for Just As Long As We’re Together and Here’s To You, Rachel Robinson. Both Judy Blume classics will be reissued by Atheneum / Simon & Schuster on August 25th, 2026. You can read more about my involvement in Publisher’s Weekly cover reveal.

Thanks to Lauren Rille (art director), Hope Kim (Junior Designer), and Jin Soo Chun (Assistant Editor) for all their help with this project, Justin Chanda and Atheneum/S&S, and of course Judy Blume. 🩷 You can read more about the behind-the-scenes process in my blog post, where I interviewed Lauren, Hope, and Jin Soo.

Working on this most recent project brought back memories of how thrilled I was when my editor at Simon & Schuster contacted me to see if I’d be interested in auditioning for a project ‘of great proportions.’ I am STILL thrilled! I wrote a blog post about the process of illustrating Judy Blume covers, and what I learned.

Another moment I’ll never forget: being on stage in NYC at Symphony Space with Judy Blume, Jacqueline Woodson, Rachel Vail, and Soman Chainani to help celebrate Judy’s 80th birthday in 2018.

Three people standing on a stage, smiling down at an off-screen audience.
