Project I'm most excited about right now:

I'M BORED

Facebook Page for I'm Bored

Scrapbook journal for I'm Bored

I'M BORED is my very first children's book illustration project! It's a very funny and inspiring (for both kids AND adults, IMHO) story written by Michael Ian Black, and is scheduled for publication by Simon & Schuster in 2012.

I've been having a fantastic time working with Simon & Schuster art director Laurent Linn and publisher/editor Justin Chanda on this project. See my I'M BORED scrapbook for some photos and info about the process.

The book contract all started with a rejection, believe it or not. Here's the story of how it all happened.

I've also been working on my own picture books, and am pretty excited about sending them out soon.

OTHER UPCOMING PUBLICATIONS:

My illustrated short story "Kodama" will appear in TOMO, a YA fiction anthology whose proceeds will support teens affected by the March/2011 Japan quake.

NONFICTION:

The Writer's Online Marketplace, published by Writer's Digest Books (Jan/2011).

Also have written many short nonfiction pieces for print and online publications, as I mentioned earlier. I began my writing career writing for the nonfiction market.

SHORT FICTION:

Short story called "The Snow Queen" in Magic Tails, co-written with Michelle Sagara, published by DAW Books in 2005.

POETRY:

My poetry has been published in print and online publications including Ideals MagazineSnakeskin, and PKA’s The Advocate.
