This is part of my #100Branches project, in which my goal is to visit all 100 branches of the Toronto Public Library (as well as any other library I can find). You can find out more here.

Palmerston Branch, 560 Palmerston Avenue, Toronto, ON M6G 2P7 (see map). Closest major intersection: Bathurst Street and Bloor Street West. Nearest subway station: Bathurst. You can find updated info about the Palmerston branch on the Toronto Public Library website.
A small branch which opened in 1971. I worked as a Library Page in this branch in 1989. On the morning of what was supposed to be my first day, I received word that my mother had passed away. When I was eventually able to start work, the staff members at Palmerston were incredibly kind and supportive. I included Palmerston in one of my illustrations in I Want To Read ALL The Books:

More recently, I dropped by on Sept. 17th, 2025 to give the staff a signed copy of I Want To Read ALL The Books. It was nice meeting Alex at the front desk!

I had also hoped to do some work at the library, but all the tables were full. The children’s section did have a very small table and very small chair, but both were too small for me to work comfortable. 😉
