Thanks to Tim Budgen for responding to my most recent #KidLitLaunches thread in Bluesky with news that BOUNCING BUNNIES! launches from Simon & Schuster Children’s UK on Feb. 13th, 2025! BOUNCING BUNNIES! is written by Fiz Osborne and illustrated by Tim. Synopsis from the publisher’s page: “Jump, wiggle, sniff and shake your way through the day with the bunnies who just cannot stop bouncing in this action-packed picture book, inspired by the popular nursery rhyme ‘Hop Little Bunnies’. Are you ready to BOUNCE?”
Q. What do you hope young readers will take away from your book?
A. Fiz and I hope that parents and children can use the book to enjoy jumping, wriggling and bouncing to use up any energy they might have in a fun and playful way. The book also allows for children to then snuggle down and rest once they have played with yawning mouths and drowsy eyes to slow the mood.
Q. What advice do you have for young writers and illustrators?
A. The best advice I can give for any illustrator is to keep practicing ! Draw everyday, even If it’s for five minutes. Don’t worry about style or technique that will come in time. Just draw and draw for fun !
