About Debbie Ridpath Ohi

Debbie Ridpath Ohi writes and draws for a living.

Here's the story of how a rejection led to Debbie illustrating I'M BORED for Simon & Schuster Books For Young Children.

Debbie is the author of The Writer's Online Marketplace (Writer's Digest Books). She has published short nonfiction, fiction, poetry and short stories in both print and online venues. Her YA story "Kodama" appears in teen fiction anthology TOMO: Friendship Through Fiction (Stone Bridge Press, Mar/2012) -- Proceeds will help benefit teens affected by the 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami.

Debbie's webcomics include Will Write For Chocolate and Waiting For Bilbo. Her blog Inkygirl is for those who write and illustrate for young people and she tweets about the craft and business of writing at @inkyelbows.

In her spare time, Debbie writes for and performs with her music group, Urban Tapestry. Urban Tapestry has performed in the U.S., Canada, England and Germany. You can hear sound clips from their CDs at their website. Debbie is also an avid board gamer and iPadgirl.

You can find out more about Debbie and her projects at DebbieOhi.com. She's currently working on her own picture books and novels for young people as well as looking for more great stories to illustrate.

Debbie lives in Toronto, Canada with her husband Jeff.
