filking.net

Finished and sent off my NaNoWriMo article yesterday, got confirmation for another article due in November after hashing out some of the details with the editor.

Keep forgetting to mention: On the weekend, after upgrading to the most recent version of MovableType, I've converted The Dandelion Report to MovableType as well as the Filk FAQ. How I wish MovableType was around when I started Inkspot; it would have made my life so much easier. I've set things up so that most of the content is going to be generated by the filk community, with occasional nudges from me. :-)

For example, here's my current poll, which asks: "I have songwriter's block! Any advice?" Respondents post their replies in the comments section at the bottom of the page, and I'll eventually compile the comments into a summary answer -- but meanwhile, everyone can view all comments posted so far. The page becomes part of the Filk FAQ.

Speaking of Inkspotstuff, my non-compete agreement with Xlibris has expired. No, I'm not planning to rush out and start up another Inkspot; I'm pretty happy with the way things are (and besides, I have Inkygirl :-)). On the other hand, I've had to turn down a couple of ongoing assignments because of the non-compete in the past few years, so it will be nice to not having it hanging over my head anymore.
