Had lunch at King's Garden yesterday with my friend Cathy. As I've mentioned in my recently-updated Cast of Characters page, Cathy and I have known each other since second grade...longer than anyone else except for family.

We went to Fune last night with Scott and JBR, partly to celebrate the fact that Scott and I helped me move home from Philadelphia almost exactly a year earlier.

Can't believe it's only been a year...for some reason it seems like much longer. That whole stress-corporate-Philly experience, in fact, seems so distant to me now. I remember a lot of the details, but the associated emotions are somewhat blunted, like a watercolour painting left out in the rain.

The mind tends to do that to most really bad memories, doesn't it? Good thing, too, else I don't know how we'd all stay sane.

Woke up at 6 a.m. this morning. I can't seem to sleep in anymore, but I don't really mind this all that much. I worked on my novel (I know it's the weekend but I woke up super-inspired about a particular scene); I'm up to 9,000 words so far. Went to St. Lawrence Market (photos and report tomorrow).

I had been planning to see Lord of the Rings again tonight with the Paramount Virtual Line Party, but opted out when I discovered it was a matinee; I mistakenly thought it was just an evening event. When Luisa opted out, too (she didn't like LOTR so doesn't want to see it again), we decided to get together with each other tonight instead. :-)

Hey, I finished my Waiting For Frodo song! I'm pretty happy with it, and can't wait to teach it to Allison and Jodi next week.
