eye test

Ack, trying to catch up on work. Was hindered by an eye check-up in the morning...the drops used in one of the tests made it impossible for me to read anything for several hours, including a computer screen (AUGH!). Had my eyes poked, prodded, checked, was grateful that my prescription hadn't changed (my eyes are bad enough as it is :-)). Although I'm not particularly enamoured of eye tests, I'd go for an eye appointment over a dental appointment anytime. Besides, the checkups happen infrequently enough that I'm still fascinated by the whole process. Even by the cliched eye chart...do you think they ever change the letters? As a child, I always toyed with the idea of memorizing the whole chart for a lark. This time, I was also asked to read the first paragraph of a very dull story in small type. I tried to compensate for the dullness by putting extra excitement into my reading; I don't think the optometrist appreciated my efforts, though.

Okay, enough blathering, plunging back into trying to catch up after my holiday...
