patrick stewart in my neighbourhood!

Went to see Happy, Texas a couple of nights ago...fun movie. Just before the movie started, Helen recognized someone in the row just ahead of us...the Bell Silent But Funny guy. You know, the fellow in the Bell Sympatico commercials with the wild hair who is always standing in the background doing funny things while a fellow in the foreground talks about getting on the Internet. I'm sure that means nothing to those of you outside of Canada, but there you go. A brush with celebrity.

Speaking of celebrity (!)...before the movie, we wandered around Indigo for about twenty minutes. I asked a clerk in the Children's Section where I could find the first Harry Potter book, and he showed me the display. Then he asked me where he could get a coat like mine (I was wearing my Inkspot coat), and was I associated with the Inkspot people? :-) Turns out he's a fan of Inkspot! I was quite tickled, I have to confess...it's the first time anyone has recognized the name from my coat.

Patrick Stewart News! As some of you already know, I'm a big Patrick Stewart fan. Allison recently told me that Patrick Stewart was going to be in the movie X-Men (as a villain, which is even more fun), and so of course I've been interested in the progress of that movie. So imagine my delight upon hearing the news that the X-Men movie is going to be FILMING IN MY NEIGHBOURHOOD THIS WEEK in Metro Hall, which is across the street behind Roy Thompson Hall.

You know, I never have taken the time to full acquaint myself with the city council offices and other public venues in that building...I think that perhaps this week might be a good time for me to do a little bit of exploring.

Wish me luck, eh? :-)
