fune

Went out for sushi with Jeff at Fune last night. Chris wasn't there...he's getting married today!! Pretty crowded at Fune (west side of Simcoe, just north of King St.). Don't think I've never really properly explained the layout of this restaurant...you can either sit at a regular table or at the sushi bar. Jeff and I usually opt for the bar, which has a little "river" with miniature boats. Orders are put on the boats, and you take them before they float by. Sometimes you'll see other interesting objects floating by, depending on how much sake people have been drinking. Jeff and I have been going to Fune often enough to know the names of some of the staff there, and to know enough to order special things that aren't on the menu (feeling very worldly-wise when we do so, of course :)). I usually order salmon sashimi, steamed rice, shiitake mushrooms. Jeff orders an assortment of sushi rolls. Green tea icecream for dessert, yum!
