cottage blathering

Blathering from the cottage! Pretty quiet right now, loons calling from the lake, remains of the bonfire still glowing outside, fire crackling inside (yes, it's actually cold enough for a fire). Have done a lot of napping and eating, I'm pleased to say. I was horrified to discover there is NO CHOCOLATE HERE; if I had known, I would have made sure we picked up a supply on the way to the cottage. I introduced our one-year-old niece to my Magic Percussion Bag today, and she was quite delighted. Especially by the train whistle (thanks, Allison!) and the sandpaper blocks. She didn't throw anything in the lake, either. Hope everyone's having a great weekend! And that you Canajuns out there are having a great long weekend! What IS a "civic holiday" exactly, anyway?
