Shane McEwan has been working with advanced computer systems since 1989 when he encountered his first Cray supercomputer. He later moved to New Zealand where he worked for Weta Digital during production of The Lord Of The Rings trilogy.

During this time he somehow ended up becoming a character in the Waiting For Frodo web comic series. After LOTR he moved to Tasmania where he worked at a remote weather monitoring station. Shane now lives near Bristol, England where he works for Aardman Animations on their upcoming feature film "The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists."
